Who We Are
Although we're proud of our products, services, and technology, nothing matches the pride we have in the Shear Color staff. We learned long ago that we're really in the business of building relationships. For that reason, we put a premium on hiring only the most qualified individuals to serve on our team. Every person on our staff is committed to providing excellent customer service and producing high-quality products and services. As you work with us in the future, we're confident that you'll find this to be true.

Joel Weitzman, President and CEO
Joel came on board Shear Color Printing in the fall of 1996. Born and raised in Minnesota, he graduated from Babson College in 1994 with a degree in Finance and Investments. Since taking over the company, he has skillfully guided our growth from 2 employees in a 2,000 square foot facility to 20 employees in a 10,000 square foot facility.
A sports enthusiast, Joel has grown to become a fan of Boston's local sports teams. He’s an avid golfer and hockey player who also enjoys skiing and scuba diving. His other main hobby is trying to keep up with his wife Joeyann and their son Alan at the family’s North Shore home.

Dan Szathmary, General Manager
Dan joined the Shear Color team in 1993. Back then we were a much smaller operation and Dan filled virtually every role from stripping and plating to bindery. In the years since, Dan’s role may have changed but his commitment to our clients remains steadfast. As our Estimator and now General Manager, his skill set has become a valuable resource that our clients consistently rely on.
Dan married the love of his life Trisha in 2002 and together they’re raising their two girls from their Billerica home – Alexandra (age 15) and Alyssa (age 11). An avid golfer and part-time softball coach to his daughter’s team, when he’s not on the greens or the softball field you can catch Dan in the kitchen or plucking out classic metal ballads on his electric guitar.
When asked if he could possess any superpower what it would be, he said: I'd love to have the ability to read minds.

Shai Brown, Art Department Manager
Shai joined the Shear Color team as the head of the Art Department in 2017. A New England transplant she was born and raised in Los Angeles and received her education at the Tennessee College of Applied Technology at Morristown, TN in 1998. A world traveller, Shai has been at the helm of large corporate and small mom-and-pop art departments around the globe for the past 23 years. As our resident Art Guru, Shai goes the extra mile to do whatever is necessary to support our clients and to make you look good on paper. A lover of all things print, she likes to say that ink runs in her blood.
The proud mother and foster mother of 5 amazing humans ranging in age from 11 to 24 years old, her out-of-work life is a whirl of nonstop activity but she and her husband find a way to make it all work. As a “Not Your Average Yogi” Shai dedicates a good amount of time to her yoga practice and can often be found in her at-home yoga studio or at the gym at some pretty strange hours.
When asked if she could possess any superpower what it would be, she said: I’d possess the ability to heal any wound. Her favorite quote is by Khalil Gibran when he said that “work is the practice of love, made visible.” She loves what she does and our clients see it every day.
